Album Covers

This album works because it's pop and it has a female font. It's very bright and it also uses pink, a female colour. It has a photograpgh of the singer on the front cover, this is also a characteristic of pop albums. Her hair style and decoration suggest te type of music this  could be.

This album cover works because the fist shows strength and anger. This music is heavy metal. It's strong and loud music with a lot of fury, so this fist represents this type of music. It uses bright colours to attract peoples attention. The focal point is the fist. The orange pattern that is around the fist looks like a repercussion of sound. You can tell by the name of the band and the font that this music is heavy metal.

This cover is for a heavy metal album. You can see this straight away, just by looking at the font that is used or at the picture on the cover. It's a mysterious picture, you cant actually see what they're doing, but it is all very dark. The people or skeletons are dressed in long, dark and a bit destroyed  robes. The sky looks interesting, it's the only colourful thing in the picture, so it attracts the attention straight to the name of the band. The title of the album is also surrounded by a bit of colour.

This album cover from The Rolling Stones is Rock & Roll music. You can see this by the clothes on the cover, tight jeans with a belt. The colour and lighting in this photo are also important. The name of the band and the album is the only colourful element on the cover, written in red letters in a box. The names look like stamps.

On this cover you can see straight away the type of music the album contains. It's a black and white photo with a man next to an old car. This man is obviously a raper, by the clothes he's wearing (wide jacket and tracksuit trousers). The car helps to guess what kind of music this CD might contain too. He uses a different type of font for the title of the album and the name of the artist, but both of them are appropriate for this genre.
